This is a sandblasted basalt engraving of Saint Francis. Basalt is probably the strongest and heaviest of stones. It has a high metallic content which is why it polishes up to a high gloss. When sandblasted, the contrast is a beautiful shiny black on a gray background. Piece includes a brass stand.
